LORETTA GRYGORCZYK (YAUNISKIS) -

Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLORETTA GRYGORCZYK (nee YAUNISKIS) 1932 - 2006 Peacefully on June 29, 2006, with her loving family by her side, Loretta left this world from Seven Oaks General Hospital following a brief but courageous battle with liver cancer at the age of 74. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Katheryn Tuchscherer (David); her grandsons, James and Christopher; who always brought a smile to her face and her son Robert all of Winnipeg. She is also survived by her sister Vicky Pessa (Ralph) of West Islip, NY and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives in Canada, the United States and Poland. She will always be remembered by her many dear friends whose lives she touched with her kindness, love and witty sense of humour. Loretta was predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years, Michael; her parents, Mary and Isadore Yauniskis; and her sisters, Anne Hiebert and Lillian Lee; and her dear cousin Jean Yauniskis. Loretta was born in Winnipeg on January 22, 1932 where she lived, married and raised her family. She enjoyed a lengthy career as a bookkeeper / payroll clerk with Kaye's Ltd, Monarch Wear and Canadian Bronze forming many lasting friendships. She was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 246. Loretta thrived on being of service and often volunteered for helping in the kitchen. In her retirement, Loretta enjoyed the simple things of life that brought her much joy whether it was berry picking, gardening, shopping and doing lunch with her friends Mary and Gladys or going on the bus to various casinos with her friend Val and her daughter and son in law. She also learned to use a computer and spent many hours learning to email all her friends. One of her favourite pastimes was taking big Baxter for a walk around the block and sneaking him treats all along the way. The family would like to thank Dr. D. Tsang and Dr. J. Lezack and the staff of the Oncology Department at Seven Oaks Hospital A special thanks for the care and compassion they gave Loretta in her final days is for the staff of Units 5 and 7 on the 3rd Floor of Seven Oaks Hospital Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 7 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Ave. with an Oblate Father officiating. There will be viewing prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. Flowers gratefully declined.
