He also leaves to mourn his extended family and many friends whom he loved dearly. John was predeceased by his mother, father and sister Sarah. John was born on September 18, 1928. While his early years where marked with hardship and separation from his family, he overcame that, and was so thankful he was able to see life in Canada with his mother and siblings. He met Olga (Braun) and fell in love with her. They married in 1954 and were inseparable right until his passing moment. John embraced life with all he had. He lived to the fullest! He was a hard worker, and had strong work ethics. His career was in screen printing up until his retirement in 1992. Family meant the world to John. There was nothing that he would not do for his children. When the grandchildren came along, it opened up a new phase for him.. He was so eager to share his love for life with the grandkids. They will always remember visiting him at the farm in Anola. John had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and he will always be remembered for his strong, consistent faith. Although he went through some extremely hard times, his trust in God did not waiver. He was an active member of McIvor Avenue Mennonite Brethren Church since its beginning. Many people will remember him for his warm welcoming handshake and smile. John had two previous experiences with cancer (2000 and 2003) with the latest was just diagnosed in March. He walked through this short time with courage, and was a blessing to family, friends and medical help that got to know him. His faith shone through. The family wishes to thank Dr. Garcia and all of the medical staff at Riverview for giving him such tender loving care, as well as being supportive to the family.
