DOLLY GORDON Mrs. Dolly (Agnes) Gordon left us early July 3, 2006. Mum went peacefully, carried on fresh morning breezes to a sun filled sky. She was tired and worn, ready to follow those who had gone on ahead, husband Mark, daughter Judy, her parents, brother George, sister Ann, and best pals Grace and Lorrette. Dolly lives on through her daughter Barbara (Dennis) and grandsons Derek and Adam. Beth, nieces and nephews remain to keep remembrance. Mum was born 1917 in St. Thomas, North Dakota to George and Anna Marie Hutton. Though she moved as a child when her family relocated to farm in the Rosser, MB area, she retained her pride in her American roots. Growing up meant the home farm, Little Mountain, Rosser and Gross Isle; their people, customs and events - many good memories. Maturity brought mum to Winnipeg for education and employment at Crane Supply, then marriage and children. Winnipeg remained home from then till now. Cats were another constant in her world. Mum's love and admiration for felines meant she was never long without at least one purring friend. It's an appreciation and joy she nurtured in all of us. Dolly lived her last five years at Deer Lodge Centre (2S/7E). This was her home - surrounding mum with physical care/support, respect, humour, companionship and loving concern. Here she found shelter of a friendly harbour. My thanks to so many at Deer Lodge Centre, who kept my mum feeling and being safe. You are priceless. She was a lady of dignity and quietude; her spirit intuitive and gentle. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 7 in the Chapel of Deer Lodge Centre, 2109 Portage Avenue. Donations may be made in Mum's memory to the Winnipeg Pet Rescue Shelter, 3062 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3K 0Y1, (a no kill animal shelter that is a not for profit organization dedicated to helping those dear to Mum's heart).
