MARY PAZERNIUK (nee HNYLYCIA) 1921 2006 Peacefully on Tuesday, July 4, Mom passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital, joining her husband Peter (1987), her parents Titiana and Nick, brothers Bill, Nick, Joe, Alex and Mike. Mom was born and raised in Hubbard, SK, and in her early twenties made her way to Winnipeg in search of employment and independence. It was here she met her future husband Peter, and together raised a son Gordon (Theresa) and daughter Elizabeth. She worked hard all her life, starting by cleaning offices, cashier and finally retiring from the sewing room of the Misericordia Hospital to stay home and spoil her three grandchildren, Peter (Susan), Janice (Jeff) and Monica. Her family grew to include great-granddaughters Sara, Vanessa, Samantha and Jorja, all of whom gave her immense pride and joy. During the last few months of her illness, she missed the chance to talk on the phone to her sisters, Anne (Saskatoon, SK), Effie (Amhurstberg, ON), Helen and Eva of Winnipeg. Also inquiring about her were her brothers, Henry (Yorkton, SK) and Harry (Ituna, SK), plus her many nieces, nephews, in-laws, outlaws, cousins and friends. All visits were enjoyed even though Mom had trouble remembering who came. Thank you to the staff of Seven Oaks Hospital, and to her family physician Dr. C. Polimeni for the care extended to her during this time. Thank-you all for your words of encouragement and prayers. Prayers will be held on Friday, July 7 at 6:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. A private family service and interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, do an act of kindness. From our hearts to yours we are grateful for all the support extended to our family during this time.
