MARIE-MARTHE GIROUARD (nee BRUNET) On July 4, 2006, at the St. Boniface Hospital, Marthe Girouard, daughter of Godias Brunet and Alice Justras, peacefully passed away at the age of 93 years. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Lorenzo, in 1995, 10 days before their 55th wedding anniversary. Marthe lovingly remembered Lorenzo and cherished his memory till the day she died. Also predeceasing her were: her sisters, Cécile Coe, Berthe, Marguerite and Alice Brunet; her brothers, Denys and Henri Brunet; her sister-in-law, Jeanne d'Arc Brunet (Henri). Marthe is survived by three loving children: Robert (Denise), Suzanne (Gilles) Gagnon and Nicole (Minke) Stornel; grandchildren, Jacqueline (Roy) van Gemert, Jennifer (Ryan) den Teuling, Darcy Girouard, Danielle (Leith) Grenkow and Dominic Gagnon; great grand-children, Marcel and Tyler van Gemert and Jonah den Teuling; sister, Jeanne Brunet; brothers, Paul (Marie-Thérèse) Brunet and Pierre (Aline) Brunet; sisters-in-law, Terry (Denys) Brunet, Melba Patton and Lorraine Riddell; brother-in-law, Clément Moreau, cousin and dear friend; Lucille Corbeil. Mom lived a long and full life as a lady of dignity, as a dedicated teacher to several generations of children in Somerset, MB, as an active member of various organizations, as a mother who instilled in her children the very highest standards, and supported us in all our steps to strive for the best we could be. Most of all, Mom had a passion for music. We all fondly remember her sitting at the piano and tickling those keys for all of us to savour. A funeral mass will be held at the St. Boniface Cathedral, 190, avenue de la Cathédrale, at 10:30 a.m. on Friday July 7 with Rev. Fr. Edouard Bonin presiding. Interment will take place following the service, in the St. Boniface Cemetery on Archibald Street. The family wishes to thank the staffs of 2 ABC at Taché Centre and of 5 A at St. Boniface Hospital for their care, attention and support. Mom, you are forever loved.
