REG NORRIS It is with deep sadness that it has come the time to say goodbye to our beloved husband, brother, son-in-law, uncle, and friend, Reg. Reg was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Anne. Born in Winnipeg, Reg spent the first years of his life in McMunn, MB. He often spoke fondly of his memories of small town life and values. He later moved with his family to Richardson farms where his parents were employed. During these years Reg learned about farming, heavy machinery and his interests for the simple life, for hard honest work and outdoor life were developed and nurtured. After his 12th year of school, Reg pursued these interests and began the first of many years working as a Heavy Equipment Operator on road construction in various parts of western Canada and the Yukon Territories. He later moved on to become a Sales Representative for Case Equipment in Winnipeg where he remained until 1995 until complications from diabetes prevented him from working any longer. Reg was ill for many years battling his illness with bravery and determination and he remained diligent in his desire not to burden those around him. His strength of spirit was an inspiration to those who knew him. During Reg's lifetime he approached all his endeavors with an insatiable quest for knowledge, a vibrant zest for life and an impeccable sense of timing. He was a born story and joke teller and could capture an audience with the first words from his mouth. His energy was infectious and Reg could raise the spirits of almost any gathering whether it be family, friends, or strangers. Reg also had a great spirit of freedom and for adventure and gave 110% to camping, fishing, boating and driving vacations. His greatest passion however was riding his motorcycle - in any direction - and to - destination anywhere. One never knew where they would end up or what surprises might occur when they were with Reg. Reg brought much laughter and excitement to the world around him and those dear to him will always feel a spark of that energy when they remember him. Diane wishes to express heartfelt thank you to all the wonderful friends and family members who have remained close and by our sides through all the trials we have encountered. You gave the quality to Reg's last years . Diane also wishes to express her sincere thank you for the care and friendships that she and Reg received from the staff and fellow patients at the St. Boniface Hospital over the years as well as recently at the Health Sciences Center. A special thank you to Timothy. At Regs' request there will be no funeral service. A private gathering will take place with his close friends and family. In lieu of flowers, anyone who wishes are welcome to send a donation to a charity of their choice. And when I come to die, he said. He shall not lay my out in state, Nor leave your laurels at my head, Nor cause your men of speech orate; No monument your gift shall be, No column in the Hall of Fame: But just this line ye grave for me: He played the game.' Arrangements entrusted to: BARRINGER Funeral Services 952-7741
