STEVE SOKOLOWSKI Peacefully on Tuesday, July 4, 2006 Steve Sokolowski passed away at the age of 81 years with his family by his side. Steve is survived by his sister Rose (husband Chris) Reichert; sister-in-law Kay Sokolowski (B.C.); nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends. He was predeceased by his parents Mathias and Nettie Sokolowski; brother John; sisters Ann, Mary and Frances. Steve was born and raised in Rembrandt where he lived all his life. Throughout his life Steve was employed by Manitoba Telephone System, B.A. Construction, a Custodian at Gimli Composite High School and also farmed. Steve was a very honest, considerate and caring man and was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He loved going to auction sales and usually came home with something whether he needed it or not. Steve looked forward to his visits with friends and neighbours and always enjoyed a good game of Hola, King Pedro or Aggravation. Prayers will be held on Friday, July 7 at MacKenzie Funeral Home in Arborg at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, July 8 at St. Philip Neri Church in Arborg at 11:00 a.m. interment will follow service in Rembrandt Cemetery.
