Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALLISTER (AL) RAYMOND PETRIE 1926 2006 Allister (Al) Raymond Petrie passed away at the Foothills Medical Centre on Wednesday, July 5, 2006 surrounded by his family. Al was born in Winnipeg in 1926 where he received most of his education. During the latter part of the Second World War, he served in the Infantry Division. In 1946, Al joined the CPR and worked in Winnipeg, Regina and Calgary. He retired in 1991. Al was a fifty-year member of the Sons of Scotland, Royal Canadian Legion No. 1 and was an elder of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. He belonged to the Heritage Seniors Group and Canadian Pacific Pensioners Association. Al volunteered at the Glenmore Auxiliary Hospital, and participated in the Reading Program at Connaught School and Braeside Elementary. Al leaves to mourn his daughters Leslie Petrie, Lori Potts and Carol Petrie; son and daughter-in-law Bruce and Sandra, all of Calgary. He also leaves four wonderful grandchildren, Tara, Jaylyn, Jeremy and Rachel; special friend of the family Charlie and canine friends Dandee and Pebbles. Al was predeceased by his wife Jean in 1987; his sister Mary, his father William; mother Christina and stepmother Margaret. Funeral Services will be held at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church (703 Heritage Drive S.W.) on Saturday, July 8, at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
