WILLIAM JAMES BULBUCK
Born: Oct 26, 1935
Date of Passing: Jul 05, 2006
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM JAMES BULBUCK It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, father and grandfather James Bulbuck on July 5, 2006 at the Russell District Health Centre with his family by his side. James was predeceased by his parents, Mike and Maria, brothers, Jack and George and sisters, Ann, Doris and Rose. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 46 years, Joyce; his son Brock and daughter-in-law Sophie; his son Bradley and daughter-in-law Corinne; and his adored grandchildren, Lauren, Jaclyn, Benjamin and Joshua. He will also be remembered with love by his brothers, Alex and Ted (Sylvia); as well as his sisters, Verna, Sadie, Margaret (Frank) and Eleanor; Joyce's family, his many nieces and nephews, and all of his extended family and friends. James was born on October 26, 1935 in Inglis, MB. He married Joyce in 1959 and the two of them pursued a career of farming and raising their family in the Inglis area. Upon James' retirement in 2002, he and Joyce continued to live in Inglis, enjoying the freedom of their retirement and their ability to travel to visit their family and friends. James will always be remembered as a good person who cherished his family, treated all people with kindness, fairness and respect, as well as one who was always first to volunteer to serve his community and his church. James' many community activities included being a board member for both the Inglis and Roblin Credit Unions for over 25 years, President of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Roblin Parish and former director of the Russell and District Personal Care Home. Most recently, one of James' fondest achievements was the creation of the Lennard Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery Fund. He had a passion for sport, as a hockey player and fastball pitcher. He was also a coach, referee, spectator and cheerleader (for his sons and grandchildren). He also developed a love for golf in his retirement. His love of sport as well as the principles by which he lived his life, are part of his legacy that he has passed on to his children and, in turn, to his grandchildren. These qualities also made James a friend to all who knew him. He will be sadly missed by everyone who he touched. The family would like to express its thanks to Drs. Pieterse and Honiball and all of the medical staff at the Russell District Health Centre for their compassionate care as well as the many friends and family members for their love and support. Prayers will be said Monday, July 10 at 7:30 p.m. in the Russell District Community Centre. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 11 at 11:00 a.m. in the Russell District Community Centre with Rt. Rev. Father Mitred Archpriest Nicholas Orest Rauliuk officiating. A lunch will follow at the Russell Community Centre. Interment for the family will take place at the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery in Lennard. If friends so desire, donations may be made in James' memory to Lennard Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery Fund or the Children's Wish Foundation. Arrangements in care of Braendle-Bruce Funeral Service, Russell, Manitoba.
