Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM (BILL) NASTIUK May 26, 1928 - July 4, 2006 After a short bout with cancer, his wife Juanita at his side, Bill slipped quietly into the arms of Jesus. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 43 years, Juanita, son Kirby and two grand-daughters Kayla and Sarah. He is also survived by sisters Kay, Helen, Elsie (Maurice) and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his parents Michael and Lena Nastiuk, brother Johnny and his sister Mary. Bill was born in Arbakka, MB., near Vita. At the age of 18 he came to Winnipeg and spent many years in the construction industry and retired early due to a work related accident. During his retirement years, Bill took great pleasure in riding his motorcycle, taking daily leisurely walks around the neighborhood and coffee and lunches at the Henderson Highway Salisbury House. Special thank you to Bills' nephew, Rick Picklyk and wife Brenda for visiting his Uncle Bill and being there for us at this difficult time. Also thank you to Dr. B. Gorski and staff at Unit 5, 5th Floor, Seven Oaks Hospital for their care and compassion. Cremation has taken place and in compliance with Bills' wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bills' memory may be made to a charity of your choice. Husband, Dad, Grampa, you will always hold a special place in our hearts. Thank you for everything you did for us and for your Unconditional Love. Footprints in the Sand One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand: one belonging to him, and the other to the Lord. When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life. This really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it. Lord, You said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed you most, you would leave me. The Lord replied, My precious, precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I Carried You.
