EDWARD SLIWORSKY It is with deep regret that we announce that Ed Sliworsky passed away on June 29, 2006 at the age of 69 years, with his family at his side. He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife Lois; his sons, Gary (Karen) and Gerald (Ulrike), and his grandchildren, Natalie, Adam and Kyle. Ed is survived by his sister-in-law Bernice Sliworsky and nephews, Patrick, James and Jonathon; brother-in-law Ken (Wendy) Alexander, and nieces Erin and Lyndsay. He was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Anne, and his brother Michael (Mac). Ed was born in Dauphin, MB, September 11, 1936. He was raised in Oak Brae, MB and after completing high school he went to work for Sneath Strilchuk Funeral Home for 10 years. Ed then took a position with Manitoba Health. In 1969 he was transferred to Winnipeg and continued to work for Manitoba Health until his retirement in 1999. Ed had a great love of the outdoors, especially camping and cycling, and in the past couple of years was attempting to add golfing to the list. He was known to putter around in his yard year round. He loved spending time with his children and their families. He was very outgoing and enjoyed visiting and getting together with friends and extended family. Thank you to everyone at Riverview Health Centre who cared for and comforted Ed during his final days. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service was held. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire donations may be made to the CancerCare Manitoba or to a charity of one's choice.
