ALOJZ (LOUIE) ERJAVEC On July 5, 2006 at the Seven Oaks General Hospital, with his family at his side, Alojz (Louie) Erjavec aged 83 years, husband of the late Anica Erjavec, passed away. Besides his wife Anica, Alojz was also predeceased by his brother Pavel. He will be sadly missed by daughter Zdenka; son Jerry; granddaughters, Tessa and Jenna; and Jenna's mother Susan Senensky; and sisters, Marija Pestivek, Jozica Vrenko and Ludmila Zagoricnik and their families. Alojz was born in Slovenija on July 19, 1922 and immigrated to Canada in 1957, making a home for his family in Winnipeg. He was a hard working man with many skills and talents. He worked for 20 years at the Health Sciences Centre as an Orderly until his retirement at the age of 65 years. Since his retirement, the light and joy of his life was his granddaughter, Tessa. Alojz's family wishes to thank the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital, 5th floor, unit 7, especially, for the care provided on his last day. His family also wishes to extend sincere gratitude to all those who so patiently provided care for Louie over the past few years, especially to the staff of the Oak unit at the Fred Douglas Lodge, who truly became part of his family and made him feel at home. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 10 at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy. No. 1 E. at Navin Road. Urn placement will take place in a niche in the Garden of Our Lady of Hope, Green Acres Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Alojz's memory may be made to the Fred Douglas Lodge Foundation, 1275 Burrows Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R2X 0B8.
