WILLIAM (BRIAN) BILLINGTON March 1, 1949 - July 6, 2006 It is with great sorrow that we had to say good-bye to our loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, son-in-law, uncle and friend, after a year and a half long battle with cancer, which he fought with courage, strength and dignity. Brian leaves to mourn his passing, his loving wife and best friend of 36 years, Susan; daughters, Tracy (Keith), Sheila (René) and son, Sean (Sheri), and five beautiful grandchildren who brought so much joy to his life, Larissa, Hayley, Riley, Brooke and Liam; brothers, Barry, Blair (Nadine), Kevin (Lovisa), Tommy (Tanis); sisters, Jo-Anne (Gary), Faye (Brian), Janet (Bob), Gail (Rick), Elaine (Fred), his mother and father-in-law, Harry and Noella; brothers-in-law, Braden and Bob, sister-in-law Shirley and many nieces and nephews. Brian was predeceased by his grandson, Brady, his parents, Alex and Iona, brothers, Nelson and Bob, sister-in-law Karen. Honorary pallbearers will be all who knew and loved him. Brian was employed at New Flyer Industries until an accident forced him into early retirement. During his employment he made many good friends, who remained loyal and good friends right to the end. His passion was fixing and painting cars and trucks, fishing and spending time at his daughter's farm. Weekly family gatherings were very important to him and daily phone calls from his three children and grandkids were a must. Brian loved people, always willing to lend a hand and his home was always open to family, neighbours and friends to break bread or just have a cup of tea. The family would like to thank Dr. Paul Daeninck and staff and all the nurses and volunteers at CancerCare for making his chemo visits less difficult with their smiles and compassion; Dr. Joel Loiselle and Bruce Anderson and all the nurses on the Palliative Care Ward St. Boniface Hospital, especially Lindsay and Collette. Your care and compassion will never be forgotten, God Bless you all. In lieu of flowers, if friends so wish, donations in Brian's memory may be made to the Palliative Care Ward, St. Boniface Hospital. My Love We'll miss your Hugs and Kisses too. You take a part of us with you. To see you suffer in so much pain We couldn't wish you back again. And when it's time, together we'll be, Walking hand and hand for Eternity. Rest in Peace Ollie A Memorial service is tentatively planned for Thursday, July 13 at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day Street. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
