LOUIS GREENBURGH March 14, 1916 - July 6, 2006 Lou passed away peacefully in his home on July 6 with his loving wife Bunty by his side. Lou rose up from humble beginnings to become one of Canada's most highly decorated pilots. His heroism continued long after the war when as a probation officer for the province of Manitoba he went on to rescue many young people from their unfortunate circumstances. He worked tirelessly to find them loving homes so that they might have a second chance. Lou was well known for his compassion, determination and great wit. He loved to walk through Kildonan Park or dance the afternoon away at the various senior dances around the city. Lou battled his illness fearlessly, but never complained. He was always grateful for the company of his family and numerous friends who surrounded him and supported him through his struggle. We were all greatly saddened when he was taken from us but we find peace in the knowledge that he left us knowing that he was truly loved. Lou is survived by his wife Violet Greenburgh (Bunty); his daughters, Linda, Heather and Cindy; his son Edwin and his grandchildren, James, Laura, J.J., Corey, Ashley and Scott. Thank you to Dr. Maurice Shnider. For his loyalty and dedication to our father, we will be forever grateful. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Winnipeg Humane Society, to help the animals that meant so much to him. Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN EDEN FUNERAL HOME 4477 Main Street 338-7111 Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolences at www.gleneden-mb.ca
