KEVIN JEROME MADDEN August 22, 1927 - July 4, 2006 With great sadness, we announce the sudden death of Kevin Madden, on Tuesday, July 4, 2006. For 35 years, Kevin taught school in Winnipeg and enjoyed coaching several sport teams. Dad was an enthusiastic reader, poet, writer, composer, philosopher, and punster whose raucous laugh was an obvious sign of his passion for life. His love for sports was limitless particularly golfing and boxing. Visiting around the dining room table with his beloved family enjoying a pot of tea was also a prominent highlight throughout his life. Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Mr. Madden was my Grade 6 teacher at George V School. Not only was he the best teacher I ever had but also one of the most unique individuals I have ever met in my 62 years on the planet. He had an extraordinary sense of humour and every student in that classroom knew that he cared about them. I am forever grateful that this kind man was a part of my life. - Posted by: Bert Astrope (Student) on: Jun 09, 2015

  • Mr Madden had my entire 6th grade class run the distance across Canada! The year was 1966-67. The most outstanding thing I recall of all my school years. And we all cherished the T shirts! And the maps! 1867 through to 1967. Every 10 years to see the shaping of this country. And driving the Ross girls to and from the motel on Pembina Highway after the house fire. His caring nature was felt even after leaving Grade 6. How sad to lose him, but how fortunate to have had him with you all this time. What a wonderful man he was! - Posted by: Leslie Ross (Acquaintance) on: Jul 08, 2006
