BRIAN HAMM Brian Hamm of Neubergthal, MB, 63 years of age, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2006 at the Altona Memorial Health Centre. Brian is survived by his wife Janet (nee Wiebe); two sons, Brent (Carla), Jason; four grandchildren, Tanner, Madison, Kemper, Trey; one sister Phyllis (Glenn) Friesen; one aunt Maggie Friesen; mother and father-in-law Henry B. and Anne Wiebe; three brothers-in-law, five nieces and one nephew. Brian was predeceased by his parents Henry F. and Helen Hamm. Brian was born in Altona, MB on August 19, 1942 to Henry and Helen Hamm of Neubergthal, MB. He attended school there until grade nine, then helped his dad on the farm and running the dairy. He married Janet Wiebe of Plum Coulee, MB on June 16, 1968 and they just celebrated their 38th anniversary. They adopted Brent in May 1970 and Jason in February 1973. Brian lived all his life, like his dad before him, on the same yard. He loved to farm and was able until he became ill. The last year was difficult with many health problems, which became much more difficult towards the end. Brian enjoyed spending time with his family. Over the years Brian and Janet travelled on a few Winter holidays, to Mexico, Phoenix, Florida and Barbados. They also went away for annual weekends to Grand Forks and every summer to Detroit Lakes. One other favourite past time of Brian's was going for coffee to meet friends and discuss farming issues with fellow farmers. The funeral service will be held on Monday, July 10, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. from the E.M.M. Church in Altona, MB with interment to follow in the Neubergthal Cemetery. Viewing will be at Wiebe Funeral Home Altona on Saturday, July 8 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday, July 9 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and at the church prior to the service. In memory of Brian Hamm donations may be made to Food Grains Bank. The family would like to thank family and friends for praying for them, which brought Brian to find peace in the Lord, and so it was that he could accept his fate with dignity and courage. The family would also like to thank all the staff at the Altona hospital and Dr. Bueddefeld for all the special care and encouragement.
