Date of Passing: Jul 06, 2006
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBRUNHILD (BRUNI) ANNA KLEIN On Thursday July 6, 2006 while on route to the cottage, Bruni passed away in the arms of her beloved husband Guenter. It is with deep sadness that the time has come for us to say goodbye to a loving wife, mother, aunt, Oma and friend. Bruni immigrated to Canada with her parents and brother in 1953 from Ulm, Germany as a young girl. She worked diligently at learning English while attending school to become an operating technician. It was a profession that she excelled at and truly loved. Her career began at the Health Science Centre and took her through the halls of the Misericordia, St. Boniface and Victoria Hospitals where she gracefully retired ten years ago. Bruni and Guenter were married in the summer of 1959 and have continued to savor every moment through 47 years of love. Bruni enjoyed the simple pleasures that life brought her from picking chokecherries with her grandchildren to painting, golfing and fishing. She relished time spent with her children and grandchildren going to all games, dinners and concerts possible, her unbounded support and encouragement never faltering. Friendships made here and in Ft. Myers, Florida were always close to her heart. Bruni courageously and stoically battled kidney and heart disease during the last six years. She received a kidney transplant three years ago which greatly improved her quality of life and allowed her body to keep up to her enthusiastic and generous character. This allowed her to have more freedom, travel abroad with her family and winter in Florida and her many friends. Bruni will be lovingly remembered by her husband Guenter; daughters, Michele (Bill) Playford, Ingrid (David) Graves; and grand-children Amy, Tamara, Mackenzie, Alexander and Evan; as well as the many friends that she graced throughout her life. Guenter would like to express heartfelt thanks to all the wonderful doctors and staff at the Health Sciences Centre transplant clinic and the St. Boniface peritoneal clinic, with special thank you to Dr.'s Karpinsky, Rush, Rabson, Ross and Kulack. The ceremony to celebrate Bruni's life will be held on Wednesday, July 12, at 2:00 p.m. in Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made in Bruni's memory to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, 730 Taylor Ave, Winnipeg, MB R3M 2K8 or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald St., Suite 200, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
