He will also be remembered by many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. Omer was predeceased by his beloved daughter Linda, his parents Camille and Juliette, his brothers Raymond and Gérald, his sister Lucille and his brothers-in-law Paul and Gabriel. Omer was born in Otterburne, MB on November 3, 1925 and grew up there. He met and married Angèle, his wife of 57 years and they raised their family in St. Boniface. He was a hard worker having been employed for 28 years at Modern Dairies and 15 years at the former St. Boniface School Division. Over the years, Dad enjoyed camping, he was an avid curler, he regularly participated in square dancing, playing cards, cribbage and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a real people person and a social butterfly. Omer had an amazing ability to encourage everyone he met and because of his friendly, gregarious nature he met many more people than most do. Dad had a strong faith which helped him throughout his life especially during his illness. He remained strong and as active as he could living life to the fullest and keeping his sense of humour. We would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest gratitude and heartfelt thanks for all the love, prayers, acts of kindness, visits and all the support from family and friends. To the wonderful staff at the Taché Centre, we thank you for your compassionate loving care you gave Dad and all the support you gave us. Prayers will be said at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12 at the Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 DesMeurons Street.
