THOMAS H. CROSSLAND Suddenly on July 8, 2006, Thomas Henry Crossland, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother passed away. He leaves his wife Moira; daughter Lynda (Gordon); grandsons Kevin (Jody), Colin (Chrissy) and Trevor; great-granddaughter Moira; sister Enid (Gordon) in Manchester, England; mother-in-law Vi Cooper in Victoria; cousin ReneƩ (Peter), and many other family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents and by his younger brother, Eric. Tom was born in Liverpool, England on October 1, 1928. He met his future wife Moira while they both served in the British Army in Germany in 1948. Lynda was born in 1950. In 1959, Tom and his family emigrated to Winnipeg, where a job as a Constable with the Winnipeg Police Force awaited him. After 29 years of loyal service Tom retired as a Staff Sergeant in 1988. Through the years Tom made many friends sailing at Falcon Lake, skiing, playing snooker at the Transcona Legion, and playing golf at Cottonwood Golf Course. He served as Vice-President of the British Commonwealth Society in Winnipeg for many years. Tom most loved spending time with family, especially his three grandsons and his new great-granddaughter. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolence at www.chapellawn.mb.ca.
