Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryAGNES KATHERINE GALKA It is with great sadness that we announce that on Saturday, July 8, 2006 at the Concordia Hospital, Agnes Galka passed away peacefully with her family at her side at the age of 75 years. Remaining to forever cherish Agnes' memory are her husband Edward of 48 years of marriage; daughter, Jacqueline and son Robert (Lynn) and grandson Matthew; sisters, Nell, Adeline, Audrey (Maurice) and Vera; brothers; Edward (Nell) and Felix (Emily) and by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Agnes and Kost Czorny; sisters, Stella, Anne, Clara and brothers, Ted and Mike. Agnes had very fond memories of her days as a Nurses Aid at a hospital in Cranbrook, BC., as well as at the Mobile Blood Donor Clinic for the Canadian Red Cross. Those of us who got to hear her talk about those times know how much she loved it. Agnes was a very warm, loving and giving person who was open to everyone. Recently, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, socializing and playing cards. She made many friends over the years, including during trips to Texas and BC where she and her husband would spend the winters during the last 17 years. Agnes also had friendships which she made while she and her husband were raising their two children many years ago, friendships that lasted throughout the years. Great strength was shown in Agnes' faith in living many years with a long and sometimes arduous illness, with quiet determination and without complaining she would live each day. She was respected and admired by many who saw these qualities in her, and she will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Agnes truly was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister, aunt, sister-in-law and friend. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 12 at 10:00 a.m., in the Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church, 710 Roanoke Street, with Rev. Fr. Owen Steeves presiding. Interment will follow in Glen Lawn Cemetery, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Our family would like to express our sincere thanks to the staff at the Concordia Hospital. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 400 141 Bannatyne Ave., Winnipeg, Manitoba R3B 0R3 Agnes/Mom: We love you and miss you and any suffering you have endured is over, you are Home now.
