DEBORAH LEA VICTORIA EVANS (nee Cochrane) May 19, 1958 - July 6, 2006 It is with great sadness that the family announces Debbie's passing after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her husband Garry and her father Jerry Cochrane. Left to cherish her memory are Debbie's children, Jason and Jennifer; along with their special friend Steve, who spent many summers in their home and who was treated like one of her children; as well her mother Rose (Gary) Jacobson; brothers and sisters, Glen Cochrane, Shelley (Bruce) Middleton, Allan Cochrane, Valerie Giesen, Monica (Mac) Beckstead, Brenda Cochrane, Vangie (Lionel) Brunel, Gerald Cochrane, Dean (Heather) Cochrane and Millie (Gregg) Jones, as well as her nieces and nephews. Debbie was born in Winnipeg. She raised her children and was a devoted full-time mom. She shared a good life with her husband. Her children will treasure the special times that they had together camping and the numerous dinners and special occasions. Debbie's life revolved around her children, Jason and Jennifer, with whom she shared her love and guidance. Debbie had a phenomenal sense of humour and a quick wit, accompanied by her infectious laugh. Being feisty is a kind word to describe her for anyone who knew her. She appreciated people who were themselves. She loved to cook and was very attentive to details. She was also a very dear friend to many and was always there to listen, chat, and lend a helping hand. She loved bringing encouragement to other people. Debbie was a member of Christian Life Assembly; her faith was very important to her. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks and deepest appreciation to the staff on the Palliative Care ward at St. Boniface Hospital and to Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre Inc. Your care and compassion will never be forgotten. Funeral service for Debbie Evans will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 15 at Calvary Temple, 400 Hargrave St. with interment immediately following at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens, 4477 Main St., where Debbie will be laid to rest next to her beloved Garry. Following interment, a reception will be held at Calvary Temple. In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to bless the Evans children may make a donation at Christian Life Assembly, 1042 Jefferson Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R2P 0L1. Though Deborah has passed on, she is never far away...for she was truly loved. She will always be missed and never, ever be forgotten. Her children have become her legacy and they are indeed their Mother's creation. Rest now, dear Deborah, for we know you are with Garry and are once again at peace. Arrangements entrusted to: VOYAGE FUNERAL HOME CREMATORIUM 220 Hespeler @ Henderson Hwy. 668-3151
