Date of Passing: Jul 11, 2006
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLEO NOAH WESLOSKI Leo (81 years) passed away after a brief illness on July 11, 2006 at Lions Prairie Manor, Portage la Prairie. He is survived by his brother Paul, sisters Elsie, Lena and Vic, and numerous nieces and nephews, their children and grandchildren. Leo was predeceased in April 2006 by his beloved wife of 50 years Erma. He was also predeceased by his parents and by his brothers Eli and Leonard. Leo was the second eldest son of Anne and Fred Wesloski. He was born in Markinch, SK and moved to Winnipeg as a young man. He met Erma (Rusk) and they married in September 1955. They resided on Oakland Avenue in Winnipeg until declining health required that they move to a care facility in Portage la Prairie, closer to his nephew Doug Kinley (Janet) and special grandniece Kathryn. Leo was a quiet man but devoted endless hours to teaching Kathryn the finer details of woodworking, to visiting their cottage at the lake and to numerous shopping excursions. In his earlier years he loved to restore vintage autos, to travel and to spend quiet hours at the cottage on Lake Winnipeg. Special thanks go to the staff of Lions Prairie Manor, Portage la Prairie. A graveside service will be held at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB on Friday, July 14, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. A visitation will take place one-half hour prior to the graveside service at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. The service will be performed by Leo's nephew Rev. Paul Campbell and will terminate at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 200-6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, R3L 0K6.
