JOHN CLINTON MCLEOD April 10, 1920 July 8, 2006 Our dad passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2006 at the age of 86 years. Predeceased by his beloved wife and greatest friend, our mother Marjorie, Jack leaves to mourn his three daughters, Alberta Jean Stringham, Heather Elizabeth Hunter and Jaqueline Eleanor Rogers and sons-in law, Peter Stringham and Warren Rogers. He also leaves five grandchildren, John Peter Stringham, Wellington Ellis Stringham, Hartley Anne Rogers, Morgan Leigh Rogers and Stepheny McLeod Hunter. Born in Cypress River, MB, Jack enlisted in the Navy and served during the Second World War. He had a long and successful career with the Bank of Montreal as a bank manager appointed to branches in Estevan, where he met and married Elizabeth Marjorie Ellis, Rose Valley, where Alberta was born, Selkirk where Heather was born, and Winnipeg, Jaqueline's birthplace. Our family just kept moving along with Dad's banking career to Saltcoats, Dryden, Regina, Thunder Bay, Saskatoon and, finally, home to Winnipeg. Despite the demands of his career, we always had wonderful summer holiday times camping and fishing, travelling through the mountains or to the east. He loved to play Santa at Christmas, although the tree never went up easily. Dad's wit, his intelligence and his charm captured our laughter and imagination. He cared deeply about our successes, how we did at school, and our careers and other achievements that followed. He always expressed pride in our accomplishments, never doubting our capacity to live our lives well. He had this same kind of confidence in his grandchildren as well. For this, and for all things, we love him and he will be missed. A funeral service will be held in Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway on Saturday, July 15, at 11:00 a.m. and will be officiated by Reverend Rudy Le Maitre. THOMSON FUNERAL HOME 669 Broadway 783-7211
