ENCIL EINAR ARKSEY February 21, 1922 - July 11, 2006 On Monday, July 11, 2006 Encil succumbed to a brief illness with family at his side. He was finally able to reunite with his wife Helen whom he has missed dearly. Born in Langruth, MB February 21, 1922 to William and Sigridur (Sarah). He held a variety of jobs including trapping muskrat in Big Grass Marsh, and commercial fishing with his brother Byron, also as a labourer in the Langruth area. In December 1942 he enlisted at M.D. 10 in Winnipeg and trained in the Royal Canadian Artillery at Esquimalt, serving at Prince Rupert, Vancouver and Victoria until 1946. Upon his return to Langruth, Encil took up the electrical trade. He moved to Winnipeg in 1956 where he worked in the private sector and later for C.N. Railways. Encil married Helen Josephson in 1958 and made their home in Winnipeg, where they raised their son Stephen (1963). They moved in 1990 to live with their son north of Warren. Recent years were spent enjoying time in the shop, gardening, trout farming, watching Helen's hummingbirds and spending time with his grandchildren. Encil just returned home last week following a fishing trip with his son that was enjoyed immensely. Predeceased by his wife Helen in 2000 and his brothers, Vernauld, Norman, Allen, and Billy. He is survived by his sister Wilma (Bill) of Carmen and brother Byron of Portage. Encil will be dearly missed by his son Steve (Diane), his grandchildren and best friends, Brynn and Gunnar, sister-in-law Yvonne (Dennis) and numerous nieces and nephews. The service will be held in Stonewall at the MacKenzie Funeral Home, Saturday, July 15 at 3:00 p.m. The viewing will take place from 2:00 to 2:30 and the service will be followed by an interment at the Warren cemetery. Pallbearers will be Travis Mirus, Craig Henry, Dennis Johnson, Wally Armstrong, Eldon Nielson, and Ron Olafson. Honorary pallbearers are Reid Pratt and Herman Wagner. We wish to thank Dr. Burnet for his support and expertise as well to Warner for his skill, compassion and the efforts made to ease our pain. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
