JUNE YVONNE BREAKEY (nee ROBERTSON SCOTT) 1927 2006 June Yvonne Breakey passed away peacefully at St. Michael's Palliative Care in Lethbridge, AB on July 12, 2006. Yvonne grew up in Brandon, MB and trained as a hairdresser. She married Gordon Albert Breakey who predeceased her in 1961. Yvonne worked for the Calgary General Hospital until illness forced her into retirement in 1979. Yvonne will be remembered for her indomitable spirit that carried her through life and into death. She is survived by her children, daughter Joan (Frank) Adams, son George, both of Lethbridge; and son Ron of Innisfail, AB; grandchildren, Marilyn (Kevin) Hellier of Whistler, BC, Corrine (Daryl) Hailey, Dylan and Riley Babb of Lethbridge, Randy (Lynn), Wyatt Adams of Strathmore, AB and Jeff Adams of Airdrie, AB, and Stacy and Stephen Giles of Calgary; brothers, Ross (Jean) Smyth, Kent (Margie) Smyth, Ray (Alexis) Smyth of Winnipeg, MB, John (Marion Smyth) of Brandon, MB; sisters-in-law, Dorothy (Hugh deceased) Armstrong of Shoal Lake, MB, Evelyn (George) Simms, of Foxwarren, MB, brothers-in-law, Glen (Betty) Breakey of Carstairs, AB, and Don (Ruby) Breakey of St. Albert, AB. Also, special friends, Jim Balash and Eggert Olson. Yvonne was predeceased by special nephew Kimberly Smyth. Yvonne will be laid to rest with her husband, Gordon, Garden of Last Supper at Mountain View Cemetery, Calgary on Monday, July 17 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Fund or charity of ones choice. The family extends their gratitude and thankfulness to the many, many caregivers who have cared for our mother though out the years of her illness.
