ALAIN CHOISELAT Alain Choiselat passed away on July 9, 2006 after a long, brave and courageous fight against Rheumatoid Arthritis. Fourth child in a family of six, Alain was born in 1948 in Winnipeg. He lived the majority of his life there, moving to High River, AB about 15 years ago. He is predeceased by his parents, Marcel and Marguerite and his sister Armelle. His Rheumatoid Arthritis affliction began at 17 years old. In spite of ill health Alain strived to live a normal life and never complained. He worked in sales all his life, eventually managing his own business and continuing to do so even in the days before he passed away. Alain's ambition, unfailing determination, optimism and positive mental attitude were exemplary and he encouraged and inspired everyone who knew him. Family and friends will miss his laughter and sunny disposition. His devoted soul mate and wife of 29 years, Lynda stood by his side and he loved her deeply. He loved his daughter Danielle, her husband Jason, his son Michael and his wife Rosa. Known as Pappa' to his grandchildren, Ella, Jason, Breen and Julia were the apples of his eye' and brought him great joy. His brother Claude and sisters, Janet, Monique and Helen had many fond memories of Alain's humour and intelligence. Alain was determined to be a winner at life and he let nothing, not even a crippling disease, prevent him from accomplishing that goal. He made the very best out of circumstances and was fueled by challenge: life presented him with a big one. He was a very brave man who set a tremendous example to everyone who knew him. For all these reasons, he was a winner at life. The family wishes to thank Dr. Robbie Drummond and Dr. Brian Jensen, the 3rd floor nursing staff of the High River General Hospital, especially Ellen, Ann, Mary Ellen and Marilyn, and the Palliative Volunteers of St. Frances De Sales Catholic Church. A celebration of Alain's life will be held at the St. Frances De Sales Catholic Church in High River, AB on July 18 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to the Canadian Arthritis Society.
