Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLEONIE HOPFNER (nee BRUNEL) It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the peaceful passing of a devoted and loving wife, precious mother, dear grandmother and great-grandmother. Léonie passed away suddenly on July 12, 2006, at the Ste. Rose General Hospital. Léonie was born on January 3, 1919 at Ste. Rose du Lac to Auguste and Mathurine (nee Le Breton) Brunel. Léonie lived a long, busy and healthy life in her beloved community of Ste. Rose du Lac, surrounded by family, friends and activity. A proud helpmate of the family farm, Mom provided support with her wonderful home-cooking, taking countless hot meals to the farmers as they worked in the fields. She welcomed one and all into her home with open arms and a heartwarming smile. With her thankful and prayerful attitude, Mom was a positive role model for us all, and we will continue to honour her giving nature in raising our own families, as we carry on without her in our midst. Léonie was predeceased by her much missed daughter Lois; her twin sister Theresa; her brothers, Alphonse, Gonzague (Cecilia) and infant brother Francois; her in-laws, William (Clara), Raymond (Vena), Alphonse (Marcie), Virginia (Tom Rath), Robert (Leona) and Emil. Léonie leaves to mourn her passing and cherish many fond memories her husband of 66 years Arthur Hopfner; her children, Janet (Dick Blanchard), Joe (Barb), Dwight (Cathy), Caron (Elaine), Glenn (Rosemarie Peloquin), Ivan, Mary (Tom Keitel), Carmel and her son-in-law Jim Stait (Lani); her grandchildren, Tammi (Leonard Henke), Laurel, Carla (Chris Peterson), Meaghan (Felix Benoit), Dena (Trevor Schultz), David (Joanna Boyachek), Jonathan (Jaimie Gruman), Jason, Aiden, Tim, Daniel, Andre, Joseph, Stephanie, Aynsley, Evan, Janni; and stepgrandchildren, Megan, Carley and Nikki; her great-grandchildren, Danica, Lucas, Averill, Caelee, Sarah, Jaime, Casper, Aurora and new baby sister and Jessica; as well as her brother Jean-Louis Brunel (Germaine); and her sisters-in-law, Cecile Brunel (Alphonse) and Evelyn Hopfner (Emil) and numerous special nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank her grandniece Cindy Masson for her devotion over the past three years, Sr. Therese Cloutier for her weekly visits, the Home Care Workers in the Home Care Program for their special care, the Ste.
