MELVIN WOOD On Tuesday, July 11, 2006, Melvin Wood passed on to meet with his Lord at the age of 90 years. Left with loving memories are his wife Agatha; son Craig (Carolyn); three grandchildren, Lindsay, Caitlin and Matthew, who meant the world to him; two sisters, Bernice McCaffrey of Manitou and Donna Dodds; and nephew Ted McCaffrey. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Florence Wood. Mel Wood was a farmer for much of his life in the Opawaka District. Melvin married Agatha Ratzlaff and together were part-time farmers living in Winnipeg. For many years, he worked at the University of Winnipeg. During his retirement, Mel worked at Balmoral Hall School for five years. God has been good to Melvin Wood. God gave him a son Craig and a good wife that he loved very much. A private family funeral service was held on Thursday, July 13 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik's All Beliefs and Faiths Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Avenue at Sharp Boulevard. Interment followed in Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame Ave. Our family offers a sincere thank you to the doctors and nurses at the Tuxedo Villa and the Lions Manor.
