CECILE THERESE MARIE DEVLIN (nee Gareau) August 16, 1939 - July 15, 2006 It is with great sadness the family of Cécile Devlin announces her passing on July 15, 2006, following a courageous battle with ovarian cancer at the age of 66. Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband of 47 years, William Gerald Devlin; loving sons, Wes, Arnie (Carrie), Wayne (Christiane), and Karl (Carla). Cécile was raised on a farm in St. Laurent, MB. The farm life required that she and her sister Aline (Armand) and brothers Art (Gertie), Edward (Cécile), George (Lorraine) and Wilf work hard together. As adults they enjoyed sharing stories, listening to music and enjoying each other's company. Cécile and William Gerald were married on May 1, 1959 and went on to raise four boys and together created many family memories and traditions. Cécile was a loving caring person who always put the needs of her loved ones ahead of her own. Grandma's eyes lit up at the site of her grandchildren Daniel, Celina, Alyssa, Colin, Thomas, Julia, Paityn and Daimin. She liked to hear what was going on in their lives and willingly sewed many garments for their baptisms, communions, Halloween costumes, and blankets - just to name a few. She made sure to always have crafts on hand whenever they visited. Her grandchildren will always remember Grandma's love, delicious golden pancakes and speedballs . Cécile still found time to volunteer, help out neighbours, friends and visit with her special friend Pearl. We will always remember her loving heart, devotion to family, helping hand and a smile that would light up any room. You will always be in our hearts and never forgotten. Cécile was predeceased by daughter Marie who passed away at birth, her parents, Aline and Laurier Gareau and brother Wilf. Our family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at St. Boniface Hospital Ward 3B for their care and compassion. Thank you to all friends and family for their support and a special thank you to Nina for her famous back rubs while in the hospital. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 19, at 10:30 a.m. at Notre-Dame-De-l'Assomption (609 Leola St). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Cécile's memory to a charity of your choice. To those I have loved and those who have loved me. There is a time to be born, a time to live and now it's time to walk the path God laid for me. My life has been full. Weep not. I will walk beside you everyday Bill. Til we meet again - Cécile CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
