FERENC (FRANK) MOJZNER After a courageous battle with cancer, Frank's struggles ended peacefully on July 17, 2006 at the Arborg and District Health Centre. Frank was born in Pely in 1927 to Ferenc Sr., and his first wife Borbala. In his youth, Frank was in the military in Hungary during which time he worked as a mechanic and after his discharge in 1952 he met the love of his life, Maria who was to later become his wife. Frank lived with Maria in Budapest and worked as a cobbler. After the Hungarian Revolution of 1956 Frank and Maria, along with their families fled to Austria, eventually settling in Vienna. Frank continued to work as a cobbler in Baden while Maria worked as an interpreter for the government. It was in Austria that Frank and Maria adopted a little girl they named Natalia. Frank and Maria decided to emigrate to Canada in 1960, to be closer to Maria's mother, Ilona Paulik, Maria's daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Louis Marton and their daughters, Eva and Betty who had emigrated in 1959. Frank and Maria settled in Winnipeg where he worked at S S Sportswear, then at Richardson Manufacturing, as a machinist. Frank loved to tinker with motors and in his retirement especially enjoyed working casually at Orloff's Scrap Metals. Frank was predeceased by both his parents, and by his wife in 1992. Frank loved his family deeply and will be sadly missed by his daughter Natalia (Roger), grandsons, Joe (Fran), Josh (Tracy), Vincent, great-granddaughter Jana, Maria's daughter Helen (with whom he was particularly close), grandchildren, Eva, Betty (Rory), great-grandchildren, Ken (Stephanie), Angela (Andrew), Amanda, great-great-grandchildren, Jeremy and Courtney; brothers, Istvan (Edit) of Hungary, Sandor (Lorette) of Windsor, Canada; sister Maria, and half-sister Zsuszi both of Hungary. The family would like to thank Dr. Czaykowski and the staff at CancerCare Manitoba, Dr. Crawford and the staff at Riverview Health Centre, Dr. Pinniger and the staff in Stonewall, Dr. Al Jafari and the staff at Arborg District Health Centre. A special thank you to the Home Care and Palliative Care staff in Arborg whose efforts brightened the last few months of his life. Viewing to be held Thursday, July 20 at 7:00 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, 433 Main St., Stonewall.
