ELIZABETH (BETTY) LOVE Song Sung Blue, every garden grows one (ND) . our garden is blue today with the peaceful passing of our beloved wife, mom and granny on July 14, 2006 with her family beside her. Betty is survived by her husband of 50 years, James; children, Tracy (Don Watson), George, Corri (Ryan McDowell); sister Sheila Robertson, special family friend Robert Cecile; her cherished little ones, granddaughters, Kira and Hunter Watson and grandson Rory McDowell; sisters-in-law, Margaret Grant and Enez Grant; many nieces and nephews and Scruffy. Predeceased by her infant daughter Lindsay; parents, Alan and Amy Grant; sisters, Margaret and Jean; brothers, Bill (Alan), George and Ken; and brothers-in-law, Albert and Tom. Mom was a very special lady and we were very fortunate to have her as our mom. Dad and Mom always made sure that Christmases were very special and our camping trips fun. Mom and Dad enjoyed their trips to Hawaii and loved going to Fargo for shopping weekends. Boy, could Mom shop! No one ever got better bargains. Our children had the silliest granny who just loved being with them at every opportunity. Being a granny allowed her to always have crayons and bubbles in her house and her Granny's Cookies were the best according to Kira and Hunter. Mom was blessed with an amazing group of friends. Mom worked for many years at the Children's Clinic and the friendships she made there lasted her for life. Thank you to everyone for your support and concern, especially Leslie, Rae and Leah, whose friendship and love Mom treasured. Anyone who knew Mom soon realized that one of her passions and indulgences in life was Neil Diamond's music. Mom travelled many places to attend concerts and over the years made many friends through the Diamond connections. When Mom became sick, the support and cards she received from all over the world, including Neil himself overwhelmed her. Thank you to all for your support. We know Mom will now be able to attend every concert and have the best seat in the house. Both Mom and Dad's health became compromised on the same day. During the past 16 months, many people have supported us in so many ways. Thanks to the Royal Bank (Parkhill branch), Dr. Brian Penner, CancerCare Manitoba, Laura Canada (Polo Park), Mom and Dad's neighbours, the Palliative Care team and our friends. Mom's last month was spent at the Grace Hospice. We are very grateful to the Grace Hospital for giving Mom the opportunity to stay in this facility. The staff and volunteers are the best and we cannot thank them enough for all the care and support they gave Mom and our families. Flowers gratefully declined. If friends so wish, donations in Mom's name can be directed to the Winnipeg Humane Society or the Grace Hospice. At Mom's request there will not be any service, however a teaparty will be held to celebrate Mom's life on Monday, July 31 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook St. BARDAL FUNERAL HOME Ample Parking Behind Funeral Home 843 Sherbrook Street, 774-7474 Condolences: www.bardal.ca

This is a lovely and loving tribute to your mom, who was my friend. I will miss her friendship, her humor, and her thoughtful ways. She was a loyal friend and loved to laugh. We had many wonderful times at Neil Diamond Concerts and Birthday Parties over the years. I vividly remember a hilarious ND road trip we took to Champagne and Carbondale IL back in the 80's. We laughed till our sides ached during the entire ride. I'm delighted that her wonderful qualities will live on in her kids and grandkids. - Posted by: Joan Nurczyk (Family) on: Jul 19, 2006
