DR. ABDUL WAHEED ALVI Suddenly, on Monday, July 17, 2005 in Winnipeg, MB, Dr. Abdul Alvi passed away at the age of 76 years. Abdul will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife Josephine; their three sons: John Amir (Anne) of Raleigh, North Carolina; Charles Waheed, and David Khalid, of Winnipeg, MB; their grandchildren: Andrea (Daniel) Moskop, John 2nd, all of Raleigh, North Carolina; Scott, Rachel, of Winnipeg, MB his two brothers: Sultan of Toronto, ON, Haq, his sister Mahmooda, of Lahore, Pakistan. He will be dearly missed by the family dog Lucy. Abdul attended King George Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan, further medical training in England and U.S.A. He immigrated to Canada in 1959 and started his medical practice in Winnipeg. He was at one time an associate professor at the University of Manitoba Medical School, and also president of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba. He attended at Concordia Hospital for a number of years. A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, July 21, Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Cremation will follow the Service. The family wish to thank the many friends, all too many to mention for your loving support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Abdul to the charity of one's choice.
