RITA WURR It is with deep regret that we announce Rita's passing in the early hours of July 18, 2006. Her courageous battle with cancer ended peacefully with her family by her side. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Wilfried and her two children, Frank and Karen. Also left to cherish her memory are her brother and sister-in-law, Alfred (Beverley) and Heidi (Johnny) along with her nieces and nephews. Rita was born in Hamburg, Germany and immigrated to Canada in 1960. Rita worked many years as a dental assistant and later opted to stay at home, be a homemaker and raise her children. She became a Canadian citizen in 1968 and was proud to make her home and raise her family here in Winnipeg. She will always be remembered for her boundless energy and sense of humour. In her youth she loved to go dancing and performed in various acrobatic competitions. Later in life she loved to garden and would spend summer days reading and relaxing in her gazebo admiring her beautiful flowers. Rita loved to live life to the fullest and stayed feisty to the end, even in fighting her illness. She was predeceased by her mother Elisebeth Schulz, father, Erich Schulz and father-in-law Albert Wurr. Rita remained close with many aunts, uncles and cousins both here in Canada and Germany all of whom will sadly miss her infectious spirit. Our many thanks to the caring staff at the Women's Hospital who took such good care of Mom throughout her illness and especially in her last moments. Our family invites anyone wishing to celebrate Mom's life to join us for a remembrance service on Friday, July 21 at 2:00 p.m. The service will be held at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home and Cemetery located at 1291 McGillivray Blvd. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to CancerCare Manitoba. Mama, Du hast uns zu frueh verlassen, aber in unseren Herzen werden wir Dich immer in schöner Erinnerung behalten. Wir lieben Dich und werden Dich ewig vermissen.
