OLGA LUHOWY Peacefully on Tuesday, July 18, 2006 Olga passed away at Holy Family Nursing Home. Olga was born on August 3, 1917 in Lviv, Ukraine. She married Zenon Luhowy in Lviv in 1942 and together they immigrated to Canada in 1948. She was employed at Winnipeg Music Supply until her retirement. She was a longtime member of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church and the Ukrainian Catholic Women's League. Olga was predeceased by her husband Zenon; sisters, Marika, Sophia and Irena. She leaves to mourn her brother-in-law Stefan and wife Nina; sisters-in-law Lila; brother-in-law Yaroslaw, numerous nieces and nephews. Panakhyda (prayers) will be sung at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, July 20 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main Street. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 21 at Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, 965 Boyd Avenue with Rev. M. Kouts officiating. Interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Stefan Luhowy, George Luhowy, Peter Luhowy, Robert Cullum, Mikel Plaetinck and Walter Michalyna. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ukrainian Canadian Social Services, 235 McGregor Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2W 4W5, or to a charity of one's choice.
