EDWARD L. (TED) CLAY July 18, 1924 - July 20, 2006 A loving and gentle husband, father, grandfather (Papa), and friend passed peacefully from our lives early Thursday morning. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Irene; son Grant Clay; daughter Susan Bias (Terry); grandchildren, Trevor Clay (Marina) and Jodi Bias; as well as many relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Tina Clay. Ted was born in East Kildonan and resided here almost his entire life. He married his beloved Irene in 1945 while he was serving in the R.C.A.F in the Second World War. He worked for 40 years at Canadian Rubber Stamp, and for many years, owned and managed the company. Ted was an honorary life member of Winnipeg Executives Association. His lifelong interest and love of planes made him a loyal volunteer in his retirement at the Western Canada Aviation Museum. The summer cottage at Silver Falls was Ted's pride and joy where he spent many happy summers. Dad, you were a great role model and friend and you were always there when we needed a hand. You supported us in all of our activities, your patience had no limits. Dad played a major role in the founding and operation of the Senior A Screaming Eagles Club and the East Kildonan Elmwood Millionaires. - Love your son Grant. We will all miss your love, affection and special sense of humour. Heaven is lucky to have you Dad. - Love your daughter Susan (Terry and Jodi). I will always remember how you taught us to be the best people we could be and to treat others with great love and respect. - Love your grandson, Trevor (Marina). Following Ted's wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. To honour Ted's memory we would ask you to do something kind for somebody just as Ted would. Arrangements entrusted to: VOYAGE FUNERAL HOME CREMATORIUM 220 Hespeler @ Henderson Hwy. 668-3151
