Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHERMAN GEORGE WINKLER 1909 - 2006 It is with deep sadness the family of Herman George Winkler announces his passing on July 16, 2006 at the age of 96. Herman, Ruggs to all, was born in Tyndall, MB on September 26, 1909, the son of Amanda and Jacob. He was predeceased by his wife Nancy (Fahlen); and his siblings, John, Annie, Hilda, Martin, Anton, Carl and Nels. Herman leaves to cherish his memory son Marvin (Cynthia); daughters, Bonnie Lowen and Janet (Allan) Hlady; grandchildren, Michelle (Gord) Impey, Heather, Jackson and Anice Lowen, Bradley (Karla) and Michael Hlady and Connie Winkler; great-grandchildren, Jake Herman and Kate Impey and Cheyenne Winkler. Ruggs and Nancy shared 46 years of marriage as a wonderful team in all aspects of their life together. They loved to entertain and travel; visiting Washington State and Southern California many times and Paris, France as a major vacation. Herman lived a very long, wonderful life and much of the wonder of his life came from the gifts of his character to his family and numerous friends. They were gifts of unconditional love for his family and kindness, humour and generosity to all. Herman was a very gentle, hard-working man; always ready to share his hardy laugh and a few practical jokes. He had many interests, but he was most passionate about his farm, gardening, hunting, forestry work and his pet dogs. As a young man, Herman was a good athlete, playing baseball and hockey; continuing his love for these sports in later years as a very avid fan, attending major league ball games in Minneapolis and San Diego. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 28 at St. Paul's United Church, 730 James Ave., Beausejour. Flowers gratefully declined.
