JEAN KATHLEEN MEIER (nee JOSEY) It is with deep sadness that the family of Jean Meier announces her peaceful passing on Monday, July 17, 2006 at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg, MB. Left to mourn Jean's passing are her daughter Lynda Campbell of Winnipeg, MB; son Russell Meier (Marilyn) of Cobblehill, BC; grandsons, Ryan Campbell of Winnipeg, MB and Matthew Meier of Cobblehill, BC; great-grandsons, Tyler and Jordan Campbell of Winnipeg, MB; sisters, Ezilda Mason (Reg) of Spry Harbour, NS and Ruby Josey of Halifax, NS; brother Cyril Josey of Dartmouth, NS; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Max in 1992; her parents, Benjamin Josey and Mary Elizabeth Josey (nee Borgal); sisters, Elsie Josey, Roxie Liepins, Laura Harvey, Beulah Josey and Pearl Bollong; and brothers, Sydney, Ivan, Milton and Basil. Jean was born on April 30, 1925 in the family home in Spry Harbour on the eastern shore of Nova Scotia. She met her husband Max in Halifax following the Second World War and married in 1946. The majority of their lives were spent in Winnipeg, MB, with a seven year period of living in Halifax. Family was everything to our mother. The time spent with her great-grandsons, Tyler and Jordan was a delight in her life. The recent addition of grandson Matthew to the family was extremely special to her. Family pictures were always close at hand and available to share along with her many stories to anyone who came to visit, even if they had seen and heard them a hundred times before. Our mother had a special bond and closeness with her sisters. They personified the meaning of the word sister. Our mother suffered and overcame many illnesses in her life. She had a strong spirit, a cheerful nature and a bright smile that carried her through much. Our mother always liked to share the story that she was born two months early and wasn't supposed to survive, but she did. Journey through life can be difficult and if we're lucky, long. Even though this last battle with cancer was not meant to be won, she won much in life. A private family funeral service will be held in Winnipeg and interment will take place in the Anglican Church Cemetery in Spry Harbour, NS at a later date to be announced. Special thanks are extended to Dr. T. Aldor of the Assiniboine Clinic and Brenda Taylor of the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority for all the help and support they provided to Jean and her family. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. You will be in our hearts forever. Jean's arrangements have been entrusted to the Family Owned Funeral Chapel of: WOJCIK'S ALL BELIEFS FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL CREMATORIUM 897 - 4665
