EDWARD JOHN LAWRIE Passed away peacefully at the age of 95 years, on Friday, July 21, 2006 at Victoria General Hospital, after a brief illness. Edward was born on January 19, 1911 in Winnipeg. Edward was preceded by his loving wife Evelyn Florence Lawrie (nee Pierpoint, 2001). Edward will be sadly missed by his three sons, Bill (Gwen), Bob (Darlene), all of Winnipeg, and Gordon (Bernice) of Windsor, ON; grandchildren, Edward, Robert and Donna of Winnipeg, Brent of Calgary, AB, and Sheldon of Vancouver, BC; great-grandchildren, Justin, Jordan, Tiahna, Chelsea, Shelby and Noah, all of Winnipeg. He was predeceased by his brother Alexander and sisters, Mary, Anne and Adeline. Edward Lawrie spent most of his working career in the automobile industry, including 38 years at Century Motors Limited. His summers were spent with his family, cruising on Lake Winnipeg aboard their cruiser, the Venture . The family sincerely thanks the kind and caring staff of Vista Park Lodge where Dad has resided for the past number of years. The family also appreciates the sincere support and work of the staff at Victoria General Hospital, the doctors and caring nurse, Wendy. In kind, donations may be made to the Salvation Army Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 1932, Winnipeg, MB R3C 3R2. Funeral service and interment will take place at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. on Wednesday, July 26 at 9:30 a.m. Following interment gathering of family and friends will be presented in the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre, 4000 Portage Ave. CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME AND RECEPTION CENTRE 885-9715
