Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVIOLET VICTORIA SCHINKEL It is with great sorrow and sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Violet Victoria on July 21, 2006 at the Seven Oaks Hospital. Violet Victoria (nee Krebs) was born in the Municipality of Brokenhead (Beausejour) on August 4, 1921. She was married to Paul Arthur Schinkel on July 18, 1942 and they were blessed with 11 children. As a single parent, Mom enjoyed working with her hands and excelled as a dressmaker creating beautiful bridal gowns and much more for her many customers, and made all her children's clothing. She enjoyed crocheting and gardening if there was a patch of dirt available. She loved to play bingo and go to the casino with her friends and family. Mom loved to cook and bake for all the special holidays when her children came home to visit. Violet will be sadly missed by her daughters; Yvonne Reid and husband Garry of Thunder Bay, ON, Marlene McKay and husband John of Woodstock, ON, Donna Phillips and husband Wally of Thunder Bay, ON, Hertzel Naumoff and husband Bill of Winnipeg, Myna Haluck and husband James of Reno, Nevada, Karen Lipchen and husband Gary of Calgary, AB, Rhonda Tipping and husband Jeff of Calgary, AB; as well as sons Allen (Andy) of White Rock, BC, Paul and wife Krys of Vancouver, BC and daughter-in-law Sandy Betker and husband Gerald of Seddons Corner, MB. Our Mom was a special Nanny to Sheryl Takacs (John), Sean Reid, Scott McKay (Bridgette), Shelly McKay, John Tarka, Tammy Tarka and fiancee, Charlene Holt (Guy), Kerry Betker, Darlene Naumoff and fiancee Richard Domenco, Peter Naumoff and fiancee Maria Eadie, Tara Noe (Donald), Aaron Roberts-Schinkel, Rylan Roberts-Schinkel, Morgan Roberts-Schinkel, Jennifer Lipchen and fiancee Richard Girvitz, Brendon Lipchen and fiancee Charlene Jones, Tyler Lipchen and Keven Tipping. There are also 19 great grandchildren surviving whom will forever miss her infectious laugh and loving heart. You are our Sunshine . Violet is also survived by sisters Ruth Kelbert (Clarence), Olga Dalke, Wanda Litke and brothers George Krebs (Ruth), Gordon Krebs (Alice), Ron Krebs (Helen) and sister-in-law Irene Schinkel. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She was predeceased by her parents Molly and Gottfried Krebs, infant son Don, son Ernest in 1981, husband Paul in 1986 and infant grandson Darren Reid, as well as her sisters Doreen Mozel and Margaret Krebs, and brothers-in-law Clarence Dalke and Fred Litke. The family would like to sincerely thank Dr. N. Finlayson, who was so kind and caring, as well as the support staff on 3 Units 2 and 5 at the Seven Oaks General Hospital for the excellent care given to our Mom during her lengthy stay. We also thank the staff at the Maples Personal Care Home. Visitation Tuesday July 25 at Bardal Funeral Home. Funeral Service 1:00 p.m Wednesday July 26 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook St. Internment to follow at Brookside Cemetery.
