PHILOMENA KUSY It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Philomena (Slim) Kusy (nee Scinocca). After a brief illness, Philomena departed us on Monday, July 24, 2006. Left with fond memories are her three children, Kathy Gates (Bob), Peter (Sharon Shepherd) and Marianne Rempel (Heinrich); and her only granddaughter Deena Shanley (Ian); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband Bill in 1976; sisters Lily, Jennie, Regie and Julia; and brother Peter. Philomena was born in and spent her entire life in Winnipeg. Her love of animals showed through her kindness and generosity. Her bright smile was a beacon to all who were fortunate enough to know her. She was a proud longtime member of the Catholic Women's League at Holy Rosary Church and was fiercely proud of her Italian heritage. In keeping with Philomena's wishes, a private family interment has taken place in St. Mary's Cemetery. A Celebration of Philomena's Life will be held on Thursday, July 27 at 1:00 p.m. in Golden West Centennial Lodge, 811 School Road. Our family would like to acknowledge the special care given to Philomena by the doctors and nurses of the 5th floor of Grace Hospital and especially to the staff at Golden West Centennial Lodge. Special thanks to Rev. Fr. Sam of Holy Rosary Church for his hospital visit and anointment on July 23rd. Flowers are gratefully declined. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Philomena's memory may be made to Golden West Centennial Lodge, 811 School Rd., Winnipeg, MB. R2Y 0F8. We love you Bim. You will live on forever in our hearts. Philomena's arrangements have been entrusted to the Family Owned Funeral Chapel of: WOJCIK'S ALL BELIEFS FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL CREMATORIUM 897 4665
