ERNEST ERICKSON On Tuesday, July 25, 2006 Ernest Erickson, aged 74 years of Stonewall, MB, passed away at the Stonewall Hospital. He is survived by his wife Jeannette; his four children and their families, Karen (Bob) and Cassidy Bodnaryk; Wendy (Dave), Ian and Morgan Budge; Dan (Debbie), Cody, Chyann and Dustin Erickson; Lynn (Greg), Landon and Regan Nichol; his sisters Shirley (Wray) Jensen, Florence (George) Henry, Joyce (Denny) Procter; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Asmundur and Hazel Erickson. Ernest was born in Waterhen, MB, and lived there until the age of 12 when he moved to Lake Francis. He farmed there with his parents, and in 1963 married Jeannette Semenchuk. In 1975 they gave up farming and Ernie then worked for Hydro while Jeannette went back to teaching. Ernie retired early and thoroughly enjoyed his retirement spending many happy days at the cottage. He was a kind and gentle man whose passion was his grandchildren. He was thrilled when he was able to spend a memorable week with them this summer at the cottage. We will all be lost without him. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel in Stonewall. The family would like to thank all of the staff at the Stonewall Hospital and the ambulance attendants for their compassionate care.
