MARIA FONTES Peacefully on Wednesday, July 26, 2006, Maria Fontes, aged 87 years, passed away at the Health Sciences Centre. Maria is survived by her daughter Zelia (John); grandchildren, Felipe, Sonia and Gualter; great-grandson Philip; and comadre M. Piedade. She was predeceased by her husband José. Maria was born in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal and came to Canada with her husband José in 1975. She was very dedicated to her family and she will be deeply missed and always remembered. The family would like to thank the staff at the Self Care Dialysis, the Health Sciences Centre and home care. They would also like to thank all the friends who have provided so much care and support over the years. Prayers will be said at 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 28 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook St. Funeral service 9:00 a.m., Saturday, July 29 at Immaculate Conception Church, 181 Austin St. North.
