Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDMYTRO BOREK We the family of Dmytro Borek mourn his sudden passing on Tuesday, July 25, 2006. Our Uncle was born on November 14, 1920 in Lublin, Ukraine to a family of seven children. During the war Uncle and three of his siblings along with their father went to work in Germany. In 1953, Uncle immigrated to Canada where he was employed with Hurst Construction and retiring from Health Sciences Centre in 1986. Uncle married Anna Harasinska in 1970. Although they were not blessed with children, Uncle treated all his nieces and nephews and their families as if they were his own children. We shall always remember his kindness and generosity. Uncle was a longtime member of Mary's the Protectress Church and had recently moved to the Villa where he loved to socialize with his new friends. Mr. Borek was predeceased by his wife Anna; brothers, George and Mikola; sisters, Maria Nowicki and husband Bruno, Katherine Turko and husband George and his stepsister Anna. Surviving him are his brother Ivan and family, niece Luba and family in the Ukraine; his sister-in-law Maria Borek of Winnipeg and nieces and nephews and their families. Prayers will be held Friday, July 28 at 7:00 p.m. at Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St. with funeral service to be held Saturday. July 29 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's the Protectress Church, Burrows and Sinclair, Winnipeg. Rev. Fr. J. Buciora officiating. Interment to take place at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens.
