DONNA LOUISE KOT February 10, 1938 - July 26, 2006 It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Donna Louise Kot with her family at her side, on July 26, 2006 at St. Boniface Hospital, after a short but brave fight with heart disease. Donna was a generous and loving wife and mother, the very best Nana, and a caring sister, cousin, aunt and friend. She was a gentle soul and a great listener, willing to be at your side in an instant. She was a strong link and the back bone of our family, bringing both sides together for numerous family get-togethers. She enjoyed getting dressed up in her classy outfits for functions, meetings, luncheons and the many family gatherings. Her calm and patient nature and her wise advice and guidance will be greatly missed. Donna was a proud ovarian cancer survivor of nine years. She was very involved in the National Ovarian Cancer Association (NOCA), always willing to share her story with all who would listen and doing many educational awareness presentations. She organized a monthly luncheon with the women afflicted with the disease bringing love, support and fun to all that attended. Donna is survived by her husband Michael Kot; children, Darlene (Nick) Cyncora and Dave (Marie) Kot; grandson Cody Cyncora; sisters, Fay Godden and Gail (Mike) Waver; brother Alan (Donna) Kunderman; sister-in-laws, Irene Hominuk and Sue (Greg) Kinley; numerous cousins, nephews and grandnieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, Matthew and Margaret Kunderman and niece Chrissie Kinley. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at the Observation Unit of Concordia Hospital and the CVT and SICU of St. Boniface Hospital for their kindness, care and diligent efforts. If friends so desire, donations in memory of Donna may be made to NOCA at 101-145 Front Street East, Toronto, ON M5A 1E3 or the Heart and Stroke Foundation at 200-6 Donald Street, Winnipeg R3L 0K6. A cremation will take place. A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 31, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day Street, Transcona 222-6677. Reception to follow. Our precious Donna/Mom/Nana, you are so loved and so missed by us all. We bid you a fond farewell as we will treasure your memory and hold you in our hearts forever. May you always be surrounded by flowers in the daytime and be the brightest star in the sky at nighttime. We know you will be our Guardian Angel until we are united again.
