ERIN FEILBERG Erin William Carl Feilberg peacefully went to be with our Heavenly Father on July 25, 2006, at the age of 41 years. Erin will always be lovingly remembered by his wife Leanne of 21 years; his sons, Justin, Brendan and Riley; and his daughter Lauren. Also left to cherish his memory are his loving parents, Carl and Lorna; devoted grandmother Lena Feilberg; his sister Heather McDonald (Dean); his brothers, Eric (Julie) and Lars (Val); mother-in-law Shirley Winslow; sister-in-law Lorna Nazar (Brian); and brother-in-law Lennard Winslow (Tanya). Erin will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews and fondly remembered by his many good friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents, William and Mabel Nakka, Haakon Feilberg; and father-in-law Bill Winslow. Born in Winnipeg and raised in East Braintree, he later married Leanne Winslow and settled on the family farm to raise their family. Erin spent his life operating a logging business with his father Carl; brother Eric; sons, Justin and Brendan; brother-in-law Dean; and good friend Walter. He enjoyed the simple farm life and raising his herd of cattle with his family. Erin always said he was a simple man because he loved the simple things that life had to offer, God, family and nature. Erin's love of the outdoors involved, working in the woods and on the farm, hunting, fishing and camping, holidays with his family. It was during his battle with cancer this past year that his God-given wisdom became very evident to all who spent time with him. Thank-you Erin for giving so generously of yourself. Our prayer for you is that you left us knowing how much you were loved and respected. The family wishes to extend our deepest gratitude to all of the team at Manitoba CancerCare and especially to Dr. Paul de Moissac and the wonderful nursing staff at the Ste. Anne Hospital. Their kindness and empathy was a huge help to the family. As per Erin's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a celebration of Erin's life on Monday, July 31, 11:00 a.m. at the Reynolds Community Club in Prawda, MB In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire donations may be made in Erin's honour to the charitable organization Focus on the Family , PO Box 9800 Station Terminal, Vancouver, BC V6B 4G3, 1-800-661-9800. While you were in the hospital near the end, you told me that you thought I would have made a fine doctor if I had chosen to pursue that path. Well, it took eleven years, but tomorrow your son will put on the white coat and officially begin the medical school journey.
