MCGREGOR WOOD Peacefully on July 28, 2006, McGregor passed away at Maples Personal Care Home at the age of 87. McGregor is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Katherine; daughter Lana Swan; daughter-in-law Ruth Wood; grandchildren, Donna (Hugh), Leanne (Rick), Tracy (Trevor), Kelli (Leigh) and Taryn (Shawn); great-grandchildren, Matthew, Mitchell, Evan, Kathryn, Mackenzie, Jenna and Lilli; sister Joan (Bill) and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Victor and Helen Wood; son Glenn in 2003; sister Elaine and brother Daniel. McGregor was born on October 28, 1918 in Winnipeg. He attended Gordon Bell High School. McGregor served with the Fort Garry Horse Regiment and landed on the beaches of Normandy on D-Day. He was a lifelong member of the West Kildonan Legion. After the war he attended Business College, then worked for the Manitoba Government for a short time. McGregor worked for the CPR for 35 years beginning as a police constable and retiring as an investigator. McGregor enjoyed curling, swimming and golfing. The family would like to thank the staff at Home Care and at Concordia Hospital for their care and compassion. Memorial service will be held on Monday, July 31 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Interment to follow in All Saints Cemetery.
