MURIEL HELENA LAUDRUM (nee JACKSON) January 27, 1919 - July 28, 2006 It is with great sadness, the family announces the passing of Aunt Muriel, peacefully at the Grace Hospice with her family by her side. She is survived by her niece Lucy (Don); nephews. Don (Donna), Kevin and Cameron (Susie); sister-in-law Dorothy (Steve); brother-in-law Ellis (GiGi) and her special kids, nieces, Lisa, Katie and nephews, Brad and Stuart. Muriel was predeceased by her husband George; mother and father, William and Mary Anne Jackson; sister Lorna; brother Kenneth (Jean) and niece Peggy. Aunt Muriel was a generous and caring person who was loved by her family and by the many friends she made over the years. Muriel was young at heart and fit in with any crowd. Many of her longtime friends were established while accompanying her husband George at curling rinks and golf courses throughout the country and their many vacations around North America. Muriel loved to travel whether it was a short jaunt to Grand Forks to shop (something she loved to do) or helping George pack up the fifth wheel to spend the winter in the sunny climates down south. Her passion was cooking and baking, not for herself but for sharing with others. She took delight in planning and preparing many family dinners and always had room to invite one more person. Cooking was also a significant part of her working career, as a member of Women's Division RCAF (Dunville #6 SFTS) and then in civilian life working in the dining room at Great West Life. Heartfelt thanks go out to the wonderful staff of the Grace Hospice, to the Homecare workers who enabled Aunt Muriel to remain in her home as long as possible, to her many friends for their caring and support and to her special visitor Chez Dog who always brought a smile to her face. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, donations may be made to the Grace Hospice Memory Garden, in care of Grace Hospital Foundation, 300 Booth Dr., Winnipeg, MB R3J 3M7. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, August 1 at 1:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. with reception to follow. Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolence at www.chapellawn.mb.ca. CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME AND RECEPTION CENTRE 885-9715
