LEVI W. TOEWS 1929 - 2006 Levi W. Toews was born on August 29, 1929 to Henry P. and Margaret (Wohlgemuth) Toews. After a lengthy illness, he peacefully passed away with his family by his side on Friday, July 28, 2006, reaching the age of 76 years. Dad was born at home in Greenland, MB, the second youngest of eight. He was united in marriage to LuEtta Wiebe on October 25, 1953 at Hillsboro, Kansas. They resided in Greenland until 1965 and then moved and settled on a farm near Elma. On retirement, they moved off the farm and built a new home on the outskirts of Elma. He leaves to cherish fond memories, his wife LuEtta of 52 years; six sons and three daughters, Shirley Penner (Earl) of Elma, Gilbert (LaVonne) of Whitemouth, Rod (Marilyn) of Elma, Barb Penner (Dewey) of Faunsdale, Alabama, John (Ramona), Ken (Deanna), Ron (Irma), Helena Penner (Kim) and Henry (Cindy), all of Elma; 32 grandchildren; one brother, Jonas (Tina); two sisters, Bertha Friesen and Caroline Penner (Dan). He was predeceased by his parents, one brother, three sisters, one in infancy, two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law. The family would like to thank all those who have given care to our husband and father. Preservice will be held on Monday, July 31 at 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., followed by a devotional and reminiscing at the Sobering Funeral Chapel, Park Avenue East, Beausejour. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 1 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, Whitemouth, MB.
