GEORGE LOOCHUK 1931 2006 The family of George Daniel Loochuk announces with great sorrow, the sudden passing of our husband, father, Papa and brother, on Saturday, July 29, 2006, at the cottage he loved so much at LacLu. He was the beloved and devoted husband to Audrey, his wife of 43 years. He will be always missed and remembered with love by his children, John (Donna), Lori (Derek Gruhn). He was the cherished and adored Papa to his three granddaughters, Kaelin, Ryleigh and Brooke. He is also survived by his dear sister Lillian Lukas and her family of Baltimore, Maryland; sister-in-law Shirley Jackson and her family; and Aunt Muriel Dempster. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Katherine Loochuk. George was born August 28, 1931 in Firdale, MB. He attended school in Portage La Prairie, moving to Winnipeg when he married Audrey. He was a third generation railroad man working for the CNR for 40 years primarily as a train dispatcher. He enjoyed his years as a Shriner, curling at the Fort Garry Curling Club, golfing, as a sports fan of the Bombers and JETS, a pilot in his earlier years, and gardening. As well he could fix anything and everything. His most recent joy was his cottage at LacLu. He loved and enjoyed his time spent there with his family. Special thanks to Barry Bennett and the P.U.F.F. first responders for all of their efforts. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 3, at Klassen Funeral Home with Reverend Diane Guilford officiating. Interment will follow in Green Acres Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pellatt United Firefighters Inc. towards the purchase of an Auto External Defibrillator, in care of RR # 1, Box 12, Site 7A, Keewatin, ON, P0X 1C0. Thank you for giving your life to us, and for choosing me to spend your life with. Love Audrey KLASSEN FUNERAL HOME 1897 Henderson - North of McIvor - 338-0331
