CLAIRE FRANCES MCEWAN (WILKES) August 30, 1939 July 30, 2006 Peacefully on July 30, 2006 our beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother passed away at the Victoria General Hospital at the age of 66 years. Left to treasure her memory is her husband Ken and her children, Malcom McEwan (Jenny), Mike McEwan (Liz), Margo Boak (Garry) and Marlene Waterston (Jim). She is predeceased by her eldest daughter Monica Sparks (1983). She will be dearly remembered by her grandchildren, Alex, Ben, Addison, Lindsey, Chris, Ryan, Stephanie, Mark, Ashley, Rebecca and Austin. Survived by her two sisters, Audrey Sharpe (Vancouver) and Betty Hall (Ottawa); and her two brothers, Art Wilkes (Toronto) and Eric Wilkes (Edmonton); and numerous nieces and nephews. Claire worked for many years at Spot Graphics in the shipping department and loved to sew and garden and of course her favourite past time BINGO kept her busy most days. Together our parents spent many wonderful summers at their trailer in Petersfield, MB. Visitation will be on August 3, at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A graveside ceremony will be held on August 4, at 1:00 p.m. at the Waverley Memorial Gardens (1501 Waverley St.). In keeping with Claire's wishes, flowers are gratefully declined; donations can be made in her memory to The Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent Rd., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1S1, a charity very close to her heart.
